NHRA Funny Car star Alexis DeJoria has unveiled the Toyota Nitro Funny Car she plans to campaign this season in her return to racing.
Adorning her car are sponsors ROKiT Phones and ABK Beer, who are planning a range of fan interaction across the season to expand their brands. The two brands are part of the DeJoria family’s range of business interests, which span everything from the famed Tequila Patron label Alexis showcased during her first stretch in the sport, to the Paul Mitchell haircare range.
DeJoria will be reuniting with former crew chief Del Worsham, who she worked with while racing under the Kalitta Motorsports banner.
“Joining Del’s newly-formed DC Motorsports team was just the first step in reigniting my quest at being the first female Funny Car world champion, and I’m thrilled that ROKiT is coming along for the ride,” said DeJoria. “I can’t wait to get back on the track and am energized and excited about all the things we have in store for the amazing NHRA fans!”
DeJoria will be on track at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, where she made history in 2014 by becoming the first woman to clock a sub-four-second run in a Funny Car with a 3.997-second elapsed time.
